Laura Oris-Naidenova - PRESIDENT
My name is Laura Oris-Naidenova, and I’m happy to say that I am the President of BMYC this year! This is my second year on the council, and I’m excited to bring changes and fresh ideas to the table. I’m a Grade 12 student at Clarkson Secondary School, and I am also serving my term as the Peel Student Trustee South for the 2018-2019 year. As you can see, I’m very passionate about social issues and gathering student input, so I’m very much looking forward to this year.
Renee mahi - Vice President
Hey guys! My name is Renee Mahi and I am thrilled to be the Vice President of BMYC this year! I am an ambassador turned executive for BMYC, passionate about creating awareness of often controversial social issues through youth empowerment. My friends would describe me as a compulsive viola player, an avid Netflix binge-watcher, and a lively food enthusiast. I’m looking forward to organizing eye-opening events, making creative videos, and learning more about the importance of diversity not only in Brampton, but all around the world.
Angela Mao - Marketing Director
Hello everyone! My name is Angela Mao and I am this year’s Marketing Director for BMYC! I am currently in Grade 11 at Turner Fenton Secondary School. I love hanging out with my friends, watching movies and going outdoors! I am really excited to be on BMYC’s 2018-2019 executive team as this is my first term. I can’t wait to not only learn more about my own culture but also become more knowledgeable about all the other cultures that I am surrounded by. Dhruv Vinay - Events Coordinator
Hey everyone! My name is Dhruv Vinay and I’m one of BMYC’s Events Coordinators for the year. I'm a Grade 11 student at Harold M. Brathwaite Secondary School. I’m an avid comic book reader and film aficionado. I love to spend my free time playing board games with my little sisters, hanging out with my friends and binge watching TV shows! I am really excited to help create opportunities for the youth in our community to learn more about the cultural diversity in Brampton. I’m also excited for the chance to find out more about the diversity within our communities and how multiculturalism plays a role in shaping our lives!
Micah Obiang-Obounou - Events Coordinator
Hi there, my name is Micah Obiang-Obounou (I know, long name) and I will be one of the event coordinators for the 2018-2019 BMYC Chapter. I currently go to Turner Fenton Secondary School and I am in my second year of high school. I am a really fun and loving guy that loves to hang out with my friends, play sports, and of course watch NETFLIX. Also, this is my first year of BMYC and I am suuuppper excited to help create some really cool memories. This year, I hope to help this BMYC chapter become one of the best yet. Thanks for reading!
Jashnoor Chhina: External Relations
Hey there! My name is Jashnoor Chhina and I am one of BMYC’s Directors of External Relations for 2018-2019 school year. Currently, I am a Grade 11 student at Turner Fenton Secondary School. I would describe myself as an avid photographer and netflix user who loves being outdoors and hanging out with friends! Always open-minded towards new cultures and traditions, I enjoy learning about the diverse world we live in. This year, I look forward to help enact positive social change within our community through BMYC and its initiatives!!
Vidhi Bhatt: External Relations
Hello! My name is Vidhi Bhatt, and I am one of your BMYC’s Directors of External Relations for the 2018-2019 school year. I am a Grade 11 student at Turner Fenton Secondary School and a proud Brampton citizen. For me, BMYC is more than just an outlet to unleash my cultural awareness but rather a safe place for me to gain and learn more about the diversity that Peel and Brampton offers. I absolutely love playing basketball (GO RAPTORS!!!) watching TV shows (Grey’s Anatomy) and I spend a lot of time doing extracurricular activities. I would describe myself as a passionate, outgoing, talkative leader who strives for excellence in all that she does. I am really looking forward to an amazing year with BMYC and can’t wait for all that the council has to offer you and me!
