The Brampton Multicultural Youth Council (BMYC) held their second annual Arts Showcase on August 31st.
Held in Garden Square of Downtown Brampton, 12 Main St, the event provided aspiring artists in the local community to showcase their talent to a larger audience.
In the showcase, participants had the opportunity to present their talent in any aspect of the arts through a performance that reflects something about their culture, a subculture or any culture of their preference. This broad theme gave youth more freedom when deciding their content. Through this event, BMYC gave the youth of Peel a stage and an outlet through which they can represent an interesting aspect of a culture in any art form. The council also gave youth an opportunity to express their thoughts on cultural issues that matter to them, in an open environment.
